Dear Boy-Who-Called-Me-4-Eyes-in-3rd-grade,
Nuh uh!
That’s right. I said it. I am NO LONGER a 4 eyes.
Are you ready for the big reveal?
…
…
…
I’m not! Haha! My left eye is still a bit quite red and I haven’t worn eye makeup in weeks.
Vain? Maybe. Sneaky? Fo shizzle.
Anyhow, my eyes are feeling less dry each day. I have my post-op tomorrow, so stay tuned!
Oh, and don’t call people 4-eyes. Even if you are in elementary school and don’t know any better. It’s just mean.
Were you ever teased or embarrassed in school?

Well I had really skinny legs in elementary and middle school. A boy said I had “chicken legs.” At first I thought it was a compliment (I was pretty sure he liked me), but then my lil’ sis had to go point out what chicken legs look like…
There was a 4th grader once, giving me grief for something at the bus stop (I was in 5th) and I said, “Quit it out!” Geez….that sure got him to stop, you think?
I was teased a lot
The biggest? Everyone called me “blinky” because I blinked a lot.
Woe is me…
Yay! I’m so glad you’re healing well and everything.
Not yay to that mean little boy.
But I’m sure he’s grown and seen the error of his ways.
Also, I’ve loved reading about your surgery, as it’s one I really want but just haven’t had the guts/time to look at yet.
I was teased in school.
But before I tell you why,
I have to say, I LOVE this post. Every stinkin’ word of it.
The reason: I makes me want to fly to AZ and have drinks with you and just laugh. (Does that even make sense?)
Ok, back to my school daze. I was called (wait for it) Amy “I go with anyone who asks me”
Why??? Because my last name was Iago but it’s pronounced “I-go”
There were other versions… Amy I go you go we all go with Iago.
But that was then, now my married name sounds like Vaseline. MUCH BETTER
I was teased all through elementary school and was very shy in high school. Can’t wait for the big reveal!
You are CUTE, Chelsea!
And I agree. Name-calling is never good. I keep worrying that someone will say something mean to my 4-year-old since she just recently got glasses…but – so far – everyone has been kind and warm. #grateful
