See this elevation map?

Yep, I ran up this yesterday.

Ok, ok, I ran up half of this yesterday.

What am I talking about? The first ever Mt. Lemmon Marathon and Half Marathon. Yep, I did the half marathon.

Was it tough? HECK YES.

Was it fun? HECK YES.

Would I do it again? HECK YES.

The views? Beautiful. The people (including 50+ from my own school district)? Amazing.

Something really cool happened up on that mountain. It was a crazy hard race and we were all in it together. Everyone that we passed or who passed us were a TEAM. As mentioned, my school district had a team. I’m also on another running team/club (French Toast Mafia! BooYa!), of which some were running and others were cheering. Yet, there was a third team on that mountain yesterday, which consisted of every single person crazy enough to be there.

So, yeah, now I have a runner’s high. Anyone want to run, like, now?

Way to go Chelsea! I am so proud of you! You’ve pumped me up- I actually do feel like going running with you. We’ll do 2 blocks and then I’ll stop and cheer you on for however much further you want to run.

I loved how you described the “third team”- really touching.

WOW no wonder the Vail School District ROCKS as a team. Wondering if other school districts could take a hint here???!!! I am amazed and proud of what the whole group accomplished!
